A VXLAN bridge, also known as a VXLAN gateway, is a method of connecting VXLAN-based virtual networks with traditional VLAN-based networks. It serves as a bridge between VXLAN and VLAN-based networks, allowing communication between virtual machines in the VXLAN network and physical devices in the VLAN network.
Bridges terminate VXLAN packets and forward frames to the appropriate VLAN-based network. It is possible to segment and isolate networks using VXLAN bridging while maintaining communication between segments. It also enables the use of existing VLAN-based infrastructure and tools for networks based on VXLAN.
I write technical content about networking technologies and am fascinated by them. The technical details I share in my courses will enhance your career prospects.
